BODY-PSYCHOTHERAPY
"In our bodies, in this moment, there live the seed impulses of the change and spiritual growth we seek, and to awaken them we must bring our awareness into the body, into the here and now."
Pat Ogden
WHY BODY-PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Body-psychotherapy is an approach to therapy that considers how life experiences, emotions and feelings impact an individual's body as well as their mind. Our life stories shape our bodies creating patterns in our thoughts, speech and behaviours. Every Body is unique and so Body-psychotherapy is a different process for everyone. A typical session might include talk therapy, breath work, Biodynamic massage, guided meditation, exploring movement or using art materials for expression. I aim to work with whatever is arising for the client in a safe and confidential space.
